Sustainability Reporting

The buzz around sustainable development tends to focus on the environmental aspects, specifically carbon emissions. However, sustainable development is so much more. It includes working conditions, your impact on the community, your supply chain's integrity, resource usage, waste management, ethical practices, and governance. We've designed a framework to gather this data into one location to help you plan, track, and report on your sustainability performance.

Covering the full sustainability reporting scope including environmental, people, economic, community, and social impacts.

Structured data capture library includes starter datasets with no restrictions on the number of data fields. Each KPI can be configured to the unit of measure, frequency, aggregation type, precision point, or threshold relevant to the data collection.

The site template option enables data collection profiles to be tailored to each site.

Implement data collection options to best fit how your company operates. Options include simple statistics direct data entry, activity/transaction style, questionnaires, import services, custom-developed data connectors, exposed WCF or SOAP based web services and finally, collect through another iSystain solution and convert to KPI data.

A real-time Data Monitor makes it easy to view the status of your data collection activities. This is particularly useful for larger teams who collect information for sites spread around the globe.

Monitoring the data collection process is the responsibility of our alert system. Alerts can be configured to detect missing or incorrect data. Each alert can be configured to take corrective action. This might be as simple as sending out a notification email, or as complex as setting up an event in our event management system.

Workflow options keep things moving by prompting teams to complete their data collection, review, and verification steps. A simple coloured flagging system identifies each operation's current workflow step and a simple four-step workflow ensures the data is reviewed and verified at regular intervals.

The report designer includes many reporting layouts that help you compare different parts of the organisation, actual results against targets, previous period against current period, percentage change, heat maps, highlight achievements, gaps, and variances.

One of the more advanced features of iSystain is the bulk report distribution tool. This automates the distribution of reports to multiple users across the organisation and adapts each report to that individual’s organisation scope. Once generated, each person is notified via email. They do not have to be system users to receive a copy of each report.

Targets can be defined for specific focus areas and KPIs, and can be based on historic values or a literal value. The system also assesses the likelihood that the target will be achieved.

The formula library includes many built-in calculations such as CO2, total CO2, total energy, energy by scope, CO2 by scope, uncertainty, heating days, and cooling days. It can also be extended to include specific calculations that are relevant to your business such as production volumes, income workforce, or property metrics.

An advanced action manager and workflow engine are designed to drive continuous improvement. Our marginal abatement tool is useful in showing which of your projects is most cost effective. It’s also able to show the relationships between your targets and goals and the projects needed to implement and achieve that target or goal.

  • Our flexibility means you can configure what data you need to collect, how often, by whom, and by what method. Get up and running quickly, build and improve at your pace.

  • The centralised structure provides visibility and consistency with data collection and sign off activities. This reduces the mad rush to chase and approve data, duplication, and double handling.

  • The checks and balances built into the data collection methods improve integrity and confidence in the accuracy of data being reported.

  • Know how your organisation is tracking against targets and defined thresholds.

  • Never double handle data again. Enter it once and then it will be accessed, formulated, and fed into the relevant parts of the system to show status, improvement, and performance via the relevant reporting standards.

Sustainability Reporting Made Easy

We've simplified the sustainability reporting process by including all the tools you'll need on our Corporate Responsibility Reporting Standards Dashboard.

The dashboard offers tools to define, collect, check and report any of your sustainability reporting obligations. The process methodology is based on quality management's continuous improvement process or Plan, Do, Check, Act.

  • Define what needs to be reported and when to report

  • Collect sustainability information via imports or manual data entry

  • Check the completeness of your reporting data. Verify it's accuracy and produce preliminary reports

  • Submit reports to stakeholders, lock published data and snapshot results

iSystain's Report Designer is tightly integrated with reporting standards. This ensures only relevant information is included in each report.
